a circular impact company
WHAT WE DO
Carbon8 is a global leader in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), specialising in mineralisation
Through our Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT), we help industry decarbonise while transitioning to a more circular operation. We capture CO₂ directly from the source to treat industrial residues and manufacture new materials. The captured carbon is locked into innovative, low-carbon products, such as lightweight aggregates.
CircaBuild, our lightweight, carbon-negative alternative to natural aggregates, has various applications in construction and serves as a valuable high-performance alternative to natural aggregates, inherently reducing the carbon footprint of any construction project.
The CO₂ntainerᵀᴹ is the realisation of our technology as a compact, mobile skid-based CCUS solution. It allows for easy implementation, avoiding disruptions in production and is a solution that can help hard-to-abate sectors today.

WHAT WE DELIVER
We offer more than sustainability: we deliver Circular Impact and make a positive difference to our clients' balance sheets and profitability.
We are world leaders in understanding new fuels, new processes and how to transform residues into sustainable new links in a circular value chain.
Carbon8 provides proven, technical, and science-driven solutions, supported by industry knowledge, to help your business thrive more profitably today while promoting environmental sustainability for your present and future.
ACT EXPLAINED
Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) is based on one of the methods that nature has used to sequester carbon for millennia. In the natural world, this reaction is extremely slow. By engineering conditions and exposure to CO₂, our patented solution accelerates this reaction, making it a real and ready circular solution to residues and carbon emissions.
Our core material technology solution was developed by Professor Colin Hills and Dr Paula Carey at the University of Greenwich.
The company’s engineering and operations team completed the development of the skid-based technology platform and system for delivering and managing industrial processes at scale in early 2024. This platform uses automated, machine learning, and AI-enabled technology.
The system was commissioned and performance-tested in the market, and the client accepted this into their fleet of cement plants in June 2024.

WHO WE ARE
Carbon8 specialises in disrupting the carbon value chain by turning CO₂ emissions and waste streams into valuable assets.
Formed in 2006, Carbon8 was co-founded by Professor Colin Hills and Dr Paula Carey, two renowned experts in the mineralisation of carbon dioxide. Building on their patented Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT), which utilises waste to create new carbon-negative materials.
Carbon8 is now evolving into a world leader in Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS), creating technically and commercially appealing solutions of REAL relevance.
The company is investing in expanding its reach to relevant markets and industries to help deliver reductions in emissions, divert minerals away from landfills, and convert waste into valuable materials.
Carbon8 is now a proven element within the industrial ecosystem for hard-to-abate industries, playing a key role in generating significant emissions reductions, reducing waste costs, and increasing profitability for our clients.
THE OVERVIEW
-
Our solutions
We enact positive change through innovation, by bending the carbon value chain into a circle.
We are experts in using captured CO₂ to treat residues and manufacture new materials. That is Circular Impact.
-
Problems we solve
Carbon8 specialises in disrupting the carbon value chain by turning carbon emissions and industrial residues into valuable assets that can be re-used. Our Scientists and our Engineers are experts in pioneering circular processes through understanding how different industrial processes lead to various outputs and how they can be efficiently captured, combined and reused.
