Dr Paula Carey, Co-founder and CTO at Carbon8 won the Technical Excellence Category at the 2022 CN & NCE Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards. The winners of the 2022 awards were crowned in front of the industry on Thursday 6 October at Hilton Bankside in London.

Recognising Paula with the Technical Excellence Award, the judges commented “Paula's technical excellence emerged from her academic research, and she was able to bring Accelerated Carbonation Technology (ACT) to the industry with clear evidence of ACT delivering benefits to projects.  Paula has addressed technical challenges through innovation and collaboration which was discussed in her submission.  She is working on a global scale and shares her knowledge across different sectors.  A female striving for change, her work is so relevant to how we design now and protect future generations.”

In total, seven winners have been crowned recognising the women and teams that stand out as exceptional and are designed to showcase both individual and organisation wide initiatives.

I am so delighted that my work and the work of the team was recognised. We are continuing to further develop the technology to help industry meet its circularity and NetZero targets. The work goes on.
